My journey into hairstyling and owning my own slice of hair heaven traces back to my childhood dreams—a tale filled with curls, color palettes, and endless inspiration. Beyond wielding scissors and mixing potions, I wear many hats—quite literally. As a farm wife, mom, and favorite aunt, I thrive on creativity and beauty in every form.
But wait, there's more! While some stylists cringe at the thought of paperwork, I revel in the thrill of business planning and keeping those admin tasks on point. Organization? Check. Hustle? Double-check. Bring on the challenges—I'm all about keeping life vibrant and buzzing!
When I'm not sprinkling fairy dust in the salon, you'll catch me with my hubby and kiddos. We're outdoor enthusiasts, living for farm frolics, revving up ATVs, gliding down rivers in kayaks, pedaling through scenic trails, or whipping up sweet treats in the kitchen. Life's an adventure—let's make every moment count!
Our Story
Nestled in downtown Clay Center, KS, you'll discover Wildflower Studio, LLC. The building was purchased in 2010, marking the start of the salon. Through perseverance, hard work, and the support of valued patrons, the salon flourished over nine fruitful years. In 2019 we faced a challenge we never once considered: a pickup truck crashed into our salon, providing an opportunity to step back and gain some perspective, resilience and determination which would pave the path for growth and transformation.
And so began a revitalization, both physically and conceptually. The salon underwent renovations, coinciding with a reimagining of its business framework and a new name - Wildflower Studio, LLC. At Wildflower Studio, we are more than just a salon; we are a dedicated team committed to enhancing your natural beauty and confidence.

Stylist
Janae Crimmins
Born and raised right here in Clay Center, Janae graduated from hair school in July 2026 and is excited to begin her career serving the community she calls home. She especially loves color, facials, and spray tans and can’t wait to help her clients look and feel their best. When she’s not at the salon, you’ll most likely find Janae spending time with her family and friends.
Stylist
Lindsey Mechels
With 11 years of experience, Lindsey specializes in customized haircutting and color. When it comes to men’s cuts and fades, she’s barber-level good! Lindsey loves creating a look that makes each client feel so confident. She lives in Clay Center with her husband, daughter, and two dogs. You can find her at Wildflower on Wednesdays and Saturdays!
